These professionals must be licensed either as a peace officer, a private investigator, or a commissioned security officer employed by a licensed company. They operate under specific state regulations and guidlines administered by the 

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)

 

Texas Bail Enforcement Agents work along side with local, state and sometimes with federal law enforcement agencies and must be knowledgable of all state and federal laws. Therefore, bail enforcment agents must be highly trained for the effectiveness of their job duties and responsibilities with careful delicacy for their safety. Agents must be ethical and professional at all times.

Texas Law

All Bail Enforcement Agents involved in Fugitive Recovery must adhere by the Texas Penal Code & Administrative Rules pertaining to the Private Security Program

Training

Bail Enforcement Agents must have proper training in take downs and handcuffing procedures. Agents must meet a strict physical agility demands

Court Order

When defendants fail to return to court, a magistrate signs a warrant ordering the fugitive to be re-arrested. The fugitive must taken back to court without delay

Fugitive Apprehension

The execution of capias warrants serves for the criminal justice system. Defendants turned into fugitives from law must be rearrested and taken back to court without delay

Capias Warrants

A capias warrant may be executed by a peace officer or by a private investigator licensed under Chapter 1702 of the Occupations Code

Apprehensions

Fugitive Recovery Agents primarily investigate and locates defendants named in criminal arrest warrants that are violent or have extensive criminal history evading arrest

Fugitive Recovery Cases

Most fugitives that are on the run are apprehended by Bounty Hunters, Police Fugitive Recovery Task Force or US Marshalls. 

This slideshow shows some cases our Bail Enforcement Agents in West Texas successfully tracked and re-arrested back in 2015. Many other fugitives were apprehended over the years. 

Private Investigators are contracted by local bail bond companies everyday to find defendants who turned into fugitives. Private investigators are part of the legal system. They must find, re-arrest, and return these futigives back to JUSTICE.
